Supporting our clients and communities

Permobil has been a world leader in high-end and complex rehab solutions for over 50 years. Our goal is to focus on the lives of people requiring mobility or assistive devices, and to help promote recovery and active lifestyles.

We support many community and charitable initiatives across Canada. Please read about some of them below.

Permobil Canada Tix&Toques Giveaway
Canada loves Hockey and we want to encourage wheelchair users to get out and enjoy the game again! Here’s a look at our winners and guests at last season’s games. We were on a winning streak – every game we sent someone to, the home team won that night.
For the 2019-20 NHL season, we gave away a pair of tickets for accessibility seating to a home game for each of Canada’s six hockey teams (sadly the Montreal one was cancelled due to COVID-19). Working from West to East, we held a draw for two tickets in the accessibility seating section to the following NHL home games:

Take a look along the right sidebar to see each of this season’s winners with their guests. While the home teams didn’t win each game, our attendees still had a great night out! It makes our hearts happy to see this and be a small part of it.

Let’s keep filling those Accessible Seats!

Watching hockey or playing it – we’re big fans! Permobil was the Stanley Cup title sponsor at both the 2019 and 2017 CEWHA Nationals. We are proud to support PowerHockey and our many para-athletes across Canada. Here we are with the Ottawa Capitals who won the 2019 event held in Toronto. We look forward to the next one in 2021!

Golf Tournament to support spinal cord injury research

In both September 2018 and 2019 we spent a day golfing, dining and bidding on auctions to support Shoot for a Cure!

We sponsored this wonderful event to raise money and awareness for the Canadian Spinal Research Organization (CSRO). It brought together manufacturers, dealers and health support professionals from across Ontario. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2020!

24 days / 1,200 km – Courage to Advance

From August 15 to September 8, 2017, Julien Racicot, paralyzed from his shoulders down to his toes following a serious spinal cord injury, journeyed from Gaspé to Montreal in a Permobil F5 power wheelchair. Using only his head to steer the wheelchair, he traveled more than 1,200 kilometers. Julien’s goal was to raise awareness for the cause of the spinal cord injured, as well as to raise funds through donations in order to positively transform the lives of many people.

Permobil Canada was thrilled to sponsor Julien on his journey. And what an extreme test for one of our chairs – travelling 1,200 kms in 24 days over all manner of roads and highways, and in all kinds of weather! Julien’s chair faced it all and powered through.
